We take care of our people and our environment

We have a grassroots action and fact-based approach to sustainability that is embedded into our business approach: we thrive on building the most eco-friendly and sales-boosting displays possible for our clients. We regularly develop new services and use new techniques to embrace the fast-paced change in this industry and use it as a lever of sustainability. In addition, we aim to significantly decrease the carbon emissions from our factories, year after year.

Our action is rooted into 3 major commitments:

DIAM is a community of entrepreneurs and talented workers. We want them to benefit from professional development and unleash their personal potential.
Fact: 72% of DIAM employees who have been trained in 2019
Objective: 14 hours of training per year and 100% of employees will have at least one training course in 2020

Our type of work also enables us to give a little extra attention to persons that are more challenged with professional work, and to contribute to their integration into a “normal” job.
Fact: about 7.9% of our workforce in 2019 came from “social inclusion” situations
Objective: reach about 10% in 2020

A fully safe and healthy work environment is a major part of taking care of employees. In 2018 Diam launched a major project to improve work safety and to get rid of harmful chemicals
Fact: in 2019 lost-time accident frequency rate improved by nearly 47% on the previous year
Objective: to further improve by the end of 2020

DIAM is committed to a better environmentWe aim to keep a fact-based and pragmatic approach to the environmental issues and opportunities.

Our life-cycle analysis approach has shown us that the environmental impact of our business primarily comes from the raw materials we use to manufacture the POS displays. We are active on many fronts there, all starting with a widespread culture of eco-design: reduction of the mass of the products and their packaging, use of low-impact materials, use of recycled raw materials…
Fact: 9% of recycled plastic purchased in 2019
Objective: 80% by 2030

Efficient and low-carbon factories:

About 10% of our carbon footprint comes from our industrial processes. We monitor the energy and water consumption of our process in all our plants and regularly enforce new efficiency and recycling solutions.
Fact: 2019  87% of electricity consumed came from renewable sources
Objective: >95% by 2020

In-store services and recycling solutions:

The end of store-life of POS displays is a real challenge, especially for fast moving small displays and modules. As we operate a full value chain, from design to installation, we can also offer reconstruction and post-store reclaiming services:
Fact: about 800 tons of post-store products dismantled and recycled in 2018
Objective: offer a maintenance and value-added recycling service in every country we operate in..

DIAM has a responsibility towards its customers and intends to fully comply with it. We are regularly audited and evaluated, here are some of our ratings:

EcoVadis: 70/100 (Gold, 2020)

To ensure our compliance in all our value chain, we have enforced internal verifications and governance:

•  DIAM is a member of the United Nations Global Compact and publishes every year its communication on progress. All DIAM employees sign an internal code of conduct and commit to complying with the 10 UN GC principles.

•  Fight against corruption and discrimination: DIAM has enforced a whistleblowing solution enabling any employee or external stakeholder to raise issues through a professional third-party mechanism.

•  We also pass on our commitments and requirements to our own suppliers. We evaluate them in a partnership spirit and ask them to sign our supplier’s code of conduct
